• Question: what invention would you say has changed the life we live now ?

      I’d say the washing machine. It freed women of virtual slavery and allowed them to work outside the house. The whole society was changed!

      That’s a very good question. There are so many things that have completely changed the way we live from the invention of the wheel to electricity to the internet etc… However I will say plumbing (invented by the romans as far as I remember) allowing us to have toilets, baths, washing machines for the ladies ? etc…
      Since my field is medicine tho, I think the greatest Discovery was antibiotics…

      Oh God there are so many! I think thought, in terms of the sheer amount of change that it’s brought to people’s lives (both positive and negative), I would have to go with the internet. It’s changed the way we interact, the way we communicate, the way we consume media, come in contact with new ideas, share information…I think it’s made the world a very different place!

      I absolutely agree with Roisin. The internet has fundamentally changed our world.
