      If we knew the answer, everyone would be living to 100! 😛

      It’s probably related to your lifestyle (how healthy you eat, how much exercise you get) and also to your genes (how likely are you to get certain diseases etc).

      As Mark said, there are two dimensions to this answer! The first is lifestyle: do you eat healthily, exercise regularly, avoid smoking, excessive drinking etc. The second is genetics: how likely are you to contract certain diseases. This is at least partly down to your DNA repair system, i.e. how well your body can detect problems in your DNA and remove them. The more efficiently it can do that, the less likely you are to experience problems!
