      I have three:

1: Isaac Newton – the man was a genius who figured out so much about physics. His book, principia mathematica, is legendary amoung physicists and mathematicans.

2: Richard Feynman – also a genius, but very charismatic as well. He was a great teacher to people, and has many amazing stories

3: Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell – first person to discover a class of object called pulsars, and she has done some amazing things with her life.

I love Tesla, the stories (and most of them are just stories) capture the imagination of what makes science really cool, breaking boundaries and studying some truly fascinating things. A lot of his apparent discoveries are still amazing, and we struggle to reproduce them.

My favourite scientist is Marie Curie. She was an absolutely incredible scientist: she developed the theory of radioactivity, ways of isolating radioactive isotopes and she personally discovered two new elements (radium and polonium). To this day she remains the only scientist to win the Nobel Prize in two separate fields! She was also a very interesting woman who overcame a lot of obstacles to get where she was (she was rejected by some universities for being a woman) and she was a humanitarian who helped set up and operate X-ray centres during WWI…a truly amazing human being!
