• Question: when you first started working with patients , did it hurt to have to tell a family a bad diagnosis and does it get easier the longer you do it ?

      As a scientist I don’t give the patient their diagnosis, that is the job of the doctor (usually consultant if it’s bad news). To answer your question I asked my consultant and she says that no it doesn’t get easier and actually since she has had children she finds it much harder (emotionally for herself )especially giving bad news to parents. However she says she has become better at doing it as she has more practice with experience.
