      I don’t think I would really describe myself as having a favourite disease: diseases are generally horrible for the person suffering, and honestly, my preference would be for there never to be any disease!

      That being said, there are some very odd diseases out there that have fascinating effects, for example, there’s one called Fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva, or ‘Stone Man Syndrome’, which is a progressive genetic disorder that gradually turns soft tissue into bone. This happens because the gene which is supposed to control turning cartilage into bones as children grow doesn’t work, which can lead to fused joints among other problems.
