Disaster! Also, really interesting that all the mathematical models of prediction were wrong. Guess it’s not an exact science!

In general or just the American one? On the American election result I am disgusted…I don’t think that Hilary Clinton was necessarily the best candidate either…but as the mother of two girls Trumps attitude to women is appalling and how people could vote for him after his racist, sexist comments is beyond me. The man made fun of a reporter who had physical disabilities for Gods sake…is this the sort of man who should have the most powerful job in the world. Also he sold himself as being a man of the people (billionaire…), we’ll see how that goes. Anyway rant over…sorry?

I agree with Michel and Karen. It’s really not great.

Having said that, we’ll need to see how things go. I have my fingers crossed it’s not going to be as bad as I think it will be.

Yeah, I don’t really have much to add, I agree with the other answers here. I was horrified when Trump got the candidacy, and I almost still can’t believe that he got elected, it’s horrible to even think about. However as Mark said, there’s nothing we can do about it, so we’ll just have to power on and hope for the best.

It’s a tough pill to swallow, especially given his anti-science and global warming denying has a chance of gaining traction, not to mention what a deplorable human being he is (sexist, racist, etc etc etc…)
While I’m only a scientist and this is outside my area, it does show that the ordinary person feels let down and ignored by politicians, and he offered an alternative. This is something that must be dealt with , and hopefully this result shows the democrats that they need to respect the people and win them over instead of staying the same as they’ve always done.
In the meantime, the people need to ensure that the more undesirable effects of his presidency are protested, refused and in the end that democracy works.
