I assume you’re saying is it hard to balance work and life around it? Sometimes! At the moment, I’m studying to get a PhD, and sometimes it does seem like I spend all my time in the lab. I have to remind myself to go and meet up with friends, and get some exercise and do something totally unrelated to work, because it’s easy to get bogged down. In general though, I think I have a good work/life balance: I don’t work so much that I’m sick of the place, and I spend a couple of evenings a week catching up with friends, playing sport and singing in a choir.

Yes it is difficult. I have 2 children who are 7 and 4 and because of this I work half time. That gives me a better balance but it does mean that I often trying to get a full weeks work done in half a week. As we speak my 4 yr old is trying to grab the I pad so a resounding YES really trying to balance work and life… I’m trying to tell her this is my work but she’s having none of it…best give her YouTube for a peaceful life…

Incredibly difficult. Particularly because I spend half my time in the US, and half the time here. And my girlfriend lives in Manchester. So between Ireland, the US and the UK, I spend a lot of time traveling, and when I’m not traveling, I’m normally working.

During my work days, I always try and see my friends at lunch, and I try not to bring my work home with me. But that doesn’t always happen – some times, work just has to be done at night, when I’m meant to be relaxing.

Yes, because I get caught up in my equations and bring them home sometimes. But I’ve got a busy family life and that keeps me sane!
