I actually have hope that the Ozone layer won’t be destroyed. The main contribution to the lose of the ozone layer were chlorofluorocarbons, which have been regulated and slowly removed from use since we discovered the ozone hole over the Antarctic.

And there’s good news on this front – that hole seems to be on the mend! Current predictions say the ozone layer will be back to normal levels by 2060-2075.

However, global warming can still happen with the ozone layer intact – so we still have a uphill battle to make sure the Earth doesn’t heat up.
