• Question: Have you ever found a cure to anything ?

      My works helps understand how the brain behaves when it deforms. Say you hit your head on a hard surface: how much will the brain matter inside the skull deform from the shock, or from the swelling? If I can predict that using a computer, I can give surgeons precious information, as they will know if there’s a chance of damage (when the brain is stretched or compressed too much) and whether they should operate or let it heal by itself.

      Unfortunately not! However I have more compounds to be sent off for testing, so there’s always hope.

      No I’m afraid not. As a medical scientist I’m on treatment end of things rather than the cure…both equally important. Looking for cures is the remit of my research colleagues.
